Boiler brands we install
Manufacturer-accredited installer for four of the leading UK boiler brands. Specialist training direct from each manufacturer means longer warranties registered to your boiler at commissioning.
Simon is a manufacturer-accredited installer for Viessmann, Vaillant, Glow-worm and Ideal, with specialist training direct from each manufacturer. Worcester Bosch and Baxi are also installed regularly. Other brands considered on request.
What's included as standard
A complete installation. No surprise extras at the end of the job.
- The boiler itself Brand-new boiler from your chosen manufacturer, in the model and output we agree on the survey.
- System flush Full chemical flush of the heating system to remove sludge and debris before the new boiler is connected. Protects the warranty.
- Magnetic system filter A MagnaClean (or equivalent) fitted as standard. Catches iron oxide and debris in future, extending the life of the new boiler.
- System inhibitor Manufacturer-approved inhibitor added to the system at the correct concentration. Prevents corrosion and sludge.
- New programmer and thermostat Modern wireless programmable thermostat fitted as standard. Smart controls available as an upgrade.
- Flue and condensate New flue installed to manufacturer specification. Condensate pipe routed to drain with proper fall and frost protection.
- Gas, water and electrical connections All new connections to current standards. Existing pipework upgraded if undersized for the new boiler's gas demand.
- Commissioning and testing Boiler commissioned to manufacturer specification. Flue gas analysis recorded. System pressure and operating temperatures set correctly.
- Manufacturer warranty registration Boiler registered with the manufacturer immediately after commissioning. You get the longest warranty available for that model.
- Building regulations notification Notified to your local authority via Gas Safe Register. You receive the building regs compliance certificate by post within a few weeks.
- Site cleanliness Floor coverings used throughout. Old boiler and packaging removed and disposed of properly. Property left tidy.
- Operating instructions Walk-through of the new boiler and controls before we leave. You know how to use everything before we hand over.
If your installation needs anything beyond a like-for-like swap (relocating the boiler, system upgrade, gas pipe upgrade, scaffolding for a high flue), it'll be quoted clearly on the survey. Nothing is added once the job has started.
Installation pricing
Real prices for fully-installed boilers across four tiers. All prices are for a like-for-like combi replacement in a domestic property, fully installed and commissioned. System changes, relocations, and gas pipe upgrades quoted on survey.
Budget
Mid-range (best value)
Mid-premium
Premium
All prices include the boiler, parts, labour, system flush, magnetic filter, inhibitor, programmable thermostat, flue, all connections, commissioning, manufacturer warranty registration, and building regulations notification. Payment by card, bank transfer or cash. A deposit may be required to cover the boiler order on the larger jobs, with the balance on completion. System or regular boiler replacements, gas pipe upgrades, scaffolding for high flue runs, or anything beyond a like-for-like swap is quoted clearly on the free survey.
The installation process
From first phone call to commissioned boiler, here's what to expect.
-
1
Free survey
An hour or so on site. The current boiler and system inspected, gas supply checked, flue route assessed, your hot water and heating needs discussed. You get an honest answer about whether replacement makes sense and what's involved. No pressure to commit.
-
2
Fixed written quote
A detailed written quote covering the boiler chosen, all parts and materials, labour, and any system upgrades. Fixed price. No surprise extras. The quote is good for 30 days so you have time to compare.
-
3
Install date booked
Once you're happy with the quote, an install date is booked. A deposit may be requested for larger jobs to cover the boiler order. You get a confirmed start date, an honest estimate of how long the job will take, and what to expect on the day.
-
4
Installation
Most like-for-like installations take 1 to 2 days. System changes or relocations can take longer. Floor coverings down, work done cleanly, old boiler removed, new one installed and commissioned. You're kept informed throughout.
-
5
Handover and registration
Walk-through of the new boiler and controls so you know how to use everything. Commissioning paperwork completed. Boiler registered with the manufacturer (long warranty active immediately) and with Gas Safe Register (building regs compliance certificate posted to you).
-
6
Aftercare
If anything's not right after the install, ring us and we'll come back. Annual servicing keeps the warranty valid (most manufacturers require it). You'll get an automatic reminder one month before the service is due each year.
Why choose Boilerworx for installation
National chains and online comparison sites have their place. Here's what you get instead with a local manufacturer-accredited engineer.
Longer warranties
Manufacturer accreditation means we register your boiler at the highest warranty tier available, often double what a non-accredited installer can offer. On Vaillant ecoTEC, that's up to 12 years. On Viessmann Vitodens, similarly long. The warranty is registered to your boiler at commissioning, not retroactively.
One person, start to finish
Simon does the survey, the quote, the install, the commissioning, and the aftercare. No subcontractors, no different engineer turning up than the one who quoted, no miscommunication between sales and install teams. The person who installs your boiler is the person you spoke to.
Honest sizing
Most homes have boilers that are oversized, often by 50% or more. Bigger is not better: an oversized boiler short-cycles, runs less efficiently, and costs more to run. The survey calculates the actual heat demand of your property and recommends accordingly. Sometimes the right answer is a smaller boiler than you currently have.
Local aftercare
If something goes wrong after the install, you ring a local engineer who knows your boiler and your property. National chains route you through a call centre. Online sellers may have already moved on. Boilerworx is here, in Torbay, year after year.
Fixed prices
The price quoted on the survey is the price you pay. No mid-job add-ons. No surprise charges for parts or extras that should have been included. If the quote is wrong because something unexpected appeared during the install, we absorb it, not you.
No commission
National chains pay sales staff commission on which boiler they sell. That creates an obvious conflict of interest. Simon recommends the right boiler for your home, your usage, and your budget, not the one that pays the most.
Common questions
How long will the installation take?
A like-for-like combi replacement is typically 1 to 2 days. Switching from a system or regular boiler to a combi can take 2 to 4 days, depending on the property. Relocating the boiler to a different room takes longer again. The survey gives you an accurate timescale before any commitment.
Do I need a power flush before installation?
Every installation includes a chemical system flush as standard, which removes most sludge and debris from the existing system. A power flush (more aggressive, separate visit) is occasionally needed on heavily contaminated systems. If yours needs one, it's identified on the survey and quoted clearly.
What size boiler do I need?
The survey calculates this properly. The output (in kW) depends on your property's heat loss, the number of bathrooms, hot water demand, and existing radiator setup. A common mistake is to replace like-for-like without checking, which often means continuing to run an oversized boiler. The right size saves money and runs better.
Can I keep my existing radiators?
Usually yes. Existing radiators are checked during the survey for size and condition. If they're sized correctly for the rooms and not too contaminated, they stay. If a couple need upgrading or replacing, that's noted on the quote.
How long is the warranty?
It depends on the boiler. Glow-worm and Baxi up to 10 years. Vaillant up to 10 years. Ideal up to 12 years on the Vogue Max. Viessmann 7 years standard, with extended cover available on some models. The exact length is confirmed on the survey for the specific boiler you choose. The warranty is registered to your boiler at commissioning, not retroactively, and requires annual servicing to remain valid.
Do you guarantee your own work?
Yes. All our installation work is covered by a 12-month workmanship warranty on top of the manufacturer warranty. If anything we've done isn't right, we come back and fix it at no cost.
What payment methods do you accept?
Card, bank transfer, or cash. A deposit may be required on larger jobs to cover the cost of the boiler order, with the balance paid on completion. Many smaller jobs don't require a deposit at all. No payment is taken before the job is done properly.
Do I need building regulations approval?
Yes, but we handle it. Every Gas Safe registered installation is automatically notified to your local authority via Gas Safe Register. You receive a building regulations compliance certificate by post within a few weeks. This is important if you ever sell the house.
What if I'm not sure my old boiler needs replacing?
If your current boiler is over 15 years old, breaking down regularly, expensive to fix, or struggling to heat the house properly, replacement is worth considering. The survey is free. If repair makes more sense than replacement, we'll say so honestly. There's no pressure to install when a repair would do.
